This picture looking up Limerick St was taken about 1911 when the old houses were being demolished to make way for the new houses with the porch at the front . The new houses were started in 1913 and finished in 1914. The builder was Edward Brophy from Roscrea who also built the spire and the college church in Mount St Josephs Abbey. The engineer on the project was Joseph Day also from Roscrea. In the 30s the houses on the opposite side were knocked after the new ones were built behind them this is the reason why the street is wider at that point today.
